Samsung has released a new security update for the Galaxy Flip 5 in September 2024, following the release of One UI 6.1.1 earlier this month.

Here's What We Know

The update is already available in most markets, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and the United States.

The new F731BXXS3 firmware version included in the update is available in several countries across these continents. In the US, both the operator-locked and factory-locked models have received the update. The carrier-locked device now works with the F731USQS4DXI3 version available on Metro, PCS and T-Mobile networks. At the same time, the factory unlocked version is updated to F731U1UES4DXI3, which is available to all carriers.

This update addresses 67 identified security vulnerabilities, but does not include any new features or performance improvements. Galaxy Flip 5 users can check the availability of the update by going to Settings, Software Update, Download & Install.

As a reminder, the Galaxy Flip 5 was released in mid-2023 with Android 13 and received the One UI 6.0 update based on Android 14 late last year. As Samsung is getting closer to opening the One UI 7.0 beta testing programme, we can expect the stable update to arrive in the next few months.
