It's become fashionable at DC to create projects about villains. We've already seen Suicide Squad, Todd Phillips' Joker, which will release a sequel in October, and the Penguin series with Colin Farrell premiered in Matt Reeves' Batman universe. And now, the studio is probably working on another similar project.

Here's What We Know

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that DC Studios, led by James Gunn and Peter Safrano, is working on a film about Bane and Deathstroke. We saw the former in films back in 2012 in Christopher Nolan's latest Dark Knight film, and Deathstroke appeared in Ben Affleck's Batman.

The screenwriter is Matthew Orton, who has already written the script for the upcoming Captain America film (Brave New World). But the project does not yet have a director.

However, it is not known whether the film will be set in the general DC universe or in Elseworlds, where Pattinson's Batman and Phoenix Joker exist.
