Silent Hill 2 Horror pre-download starts on 6 October: game weighs 50 GB

On 8 October, we'll be heading to the foggy and terrifying city as Silent Hill 2 releases on PlayStation 5 and PC. Now we've learned when the pre-load will start and how much the game weighs.

The game weighs 50 GB on PlayStation 5 and PC. Regular pre-order holders will be able to download the game on 6 October. But those who have purchased Deluxe will have the opportunity to download the game on the 4th and start playing on the 6th of October.

Flashback

After receiving a letter from his late wife, James sets off in the hope of seeing her again in the city with which they have fond memories: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he meets a woman who looks very much like her. But what really brought him to the town?

One of the features of the horror remake will be the standard third-person view. The game will also rebuild the combat system and improve facial animations to better convey the emotions of the characters.

The game is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5 game engine. Along with this, they are using Lumen for lighting and Nanite for level design. All this will help to update the foggy city and enhance its atmosphere.
