Amazon's film division has unveiled a short but entertaining teaser for Like A Dragon: Yakuza, based on the popular video game series from Sega and studio Ryu Ga Gotoku.

Here's What We Know

In the video viewers were reminded that the events of the series will unfold in two time periods: in 1995, when Kazuma Kiryu was a teenager, and in 2005, when he became a full-fledged member of the Yakuza and even managed to serve time in prison.

As in the first Yakuza game, Kazuma Kiryu will be in the spotlight alongside his partner Akira Nishikiyama (Nishikiyama Akira) and Kazuma's nemesis, the charismatic one-eyed fan favourite Goro Majima, who will be the central character in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

The series will be set in the fictional Kamurochō district of Tokyo, which resembles the real-life Kabukichō district.

There will be plenty of dramatic and poignant moments, but there will also be some absurd humour, which is what makes Yakuza stand out from similar franchises.

When We Can Expect It

Like a Dragon: Yakuza will be released on 24/25 October (depending on region) on Prime Video streaming service. Viewers will be treated to three episodes on the premiere day, and there will be six episodes in total.
