When Frostpunk 2 was scheduled for release in July, Polish studio 11 bit claimed that its next game - sci-fi adventure game with survival elements The Alters - would be released "a few weeks after the release of the post-apocalyptic strategygame".

FrostPunk 2 was released at the end of September, but it has just been revealed that 11 bit's plans have changed dramatically.

Here's What We Know

The company announced that the release of The Alters has been pushed back to the first quarter of 2025.

Przemysław Marszał, the president of 11 bit, explained that his team has been working on the game for a long time and wants to present it to the public in the best possible quality, and for that they need to give The Alters some more time.

Probably, the postponement is also related to the amazing situation that unfolded after the release of Frostpunk 2: the game received excellent reviews, was called "one of the best strategy games ", was loved by gamers, quickly recouped all the production and marketing costs, but in just a few days the share price of 11 bit dropped by 50%.

For some unknown reason, the company's shareholders expected a better result than 350 thousand copies of the strategy sold in three days, but in fact, this is a great result for a game in a genre that is not the most popular.

Most likely, 11 bit wants to overdo the release of The Alters, as it is an even more niche game.

The Alters will be released on MS and consoles, and will also appear in the PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass catalogues.
