Samsung may be changing its strategy with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, eliminating the standard model from the lineup.

Here's What We Know

According to a well-known insider Ice Universe, the company may focus only on the Plus and Ultra models, as it did with the Galaxy Tab S10 series of tablets. The main reason for this move is the weak competitiveness of the base Galaxy S models compared to similar smartphones from Chinese brands such as Oppo and vivo. These companies also produce compact and powerful devices, which puts the Galaxy S base models at a disadvantage.

In addition, the availability of Galaxy S FE models, which offer many of the features of flagship devices at a lower price point, makes the standard models less attractive. While the launch of the Galaxy S26 series is still a long way off and plans could change, current rumours point to the possible exclusion of the standard model from the future lineup.
