Changed but still the same: Silent Hill 2 Remake developers gave a comparative demo of the updated and original game
Only a few days left until the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake. The updated version of the cult horror from 2001 is of great interest to gamers and it's not surprising, because the Polish studio Bloober Team has done a really great job and, judging by the clips, coped with it perfectly.
An interesting material was published on the PlayStation channel: it clearly demonstrates the difference between the original and the remake.
Here's What We Know
Lead designer Mateusz Lenart and lead writer Andrzej Mądrzak together with the PlayStation Channel conducted a comparative demonstration of Silent Hill 2 Remake and the original game.
First, gamers were reminded how the PS2-era horror game looked like by the example of the scene where the protagonist James Sunderland and the girl Laura meet in the creepy Brookhaven Hospital. Of course, now these shots are not impressive in terms of graphics and detail, but even after 23 years they can scare you.
After that, the developers presented the same scene, but already in the updated game. Of course, some accents were shifted, but fans should highly appreciate the work of Polish game designers, because nothing breaks the original atmosphere of Silent Hill 2, and the game is made on a modern level.
The audience was also shown a fight with a monster called Flesh Lip.
When We Can Expect It
Silent Hill 2 Remake will release on 8 October on PC and PlayStation 5, with the game being exclusive to those platforms for a year.
