South Korea purchased Polish Warmate 3 kamikaze drones

The South Korean Armed Forces have signed an agreement with the Polish WB Group for the purchase of Warmate 3 kamikaze drones.

Here's What We Know

South Korea has acquired ten sets of attack drones, totalling about two hundred units, both combat and training versions, according to Dziennik Zbrojny.

The contract, worth almost $11 million, provides for deliveries to begin this year and continue until next year.

The agreement was signed at the international exhibition KADEX: Piotr Wojciechowski, President of the WB Group, and Jae-Jung Chung, CEO of DAPA. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Ministries of Defence of Poland and South Korea. The Polish side was represented by Pawel Bejda.

The Warmate 3 is a modern Polish drone designed for high-precision target engagement on the battlefield. It is capable of performing tasks in barrage mode, which allows it to detect, track and attack targets from the air. Warmate 3 can carry explosive or high-explosive warheads. Its advantages include ease of operation, high manoeuvrability and rapid deployment. The range of operation is 30 km, and communication with the operator can be maintained at a distance of up to 80 kilometres.
