WhatsApp launches a feature that resembles Instagram Stories

WhatsApp recently announced a new feature that allows users to create Instagram Stories-like statuses.

WhatsApp notes that up to five people can be mentioned in a single status, and their names can be hidden.

The mentioned people can re-share these statuses on their accounts. WhatsApp has also introduced a like feature for statuses, allowing friends to respond to updates with a simple tap.

WhatsApp recently enhanced its feeds feature and allowed users to find feeds by category, such as sports, business and news.
