The first story add-on Vessel of Hatred for Diablo 4 will be released on the 8th of October.

Developers from Blizzard promise a lot of new and interesting content, but whether it is worth buying the DLC - critics answered by publishing their reviews.

Here's What We Know

Experts were satisfied with Vessel of Hatred. They liked how the developers continued the main plot of Diablo IV, in the centre of which was the Lord of Hatred Mephisto.

Positive reviewers appreciate the updated game mechanics and new features, jungle locations Nahantu and other innovations.

The new character class Spiritborn deserves special attention. It turned out to be unusual and quite difficult to master, and gameplay for him feels fresh and not like what was before in the Diablo franchise.

In general, the release of Vessel of Hatred is called a great reason to return to Diablo IV, and as for the drawbacks, the main one is the price of DLC. Some reviewers doubt that 9-10 hours of game time are worth $40 and suggest gamers to wait for a discount.

As a result, the Vessel of Hatred add-on receives the following scores:

  • Metacritic - 80-87 points depending on platform;
  • Opencritic - 86 points with 91% of recommendations.
