Israeli journalist Amishai Stein, citing reports from US officials, said that such a proposal was made during negotiations on a response to the Iranian attack.

The package may include both "diplomatic protection" and certain weapons.

"Israeli officials responded: "We respect the United States and listen to them. But we will do everything we can to protect the citizens and security of the State of Israel," Kan11 TV channel reported.

The day before, the media drew attention to the fact that Iran had moved its oil tankers into international waters. And Biden said that "if I were Israeli officials, I would think about alternatives other than strikes on oil fields."

As a reminder, on 1 October, Iran launched about 180 missiles at Israel. Most of the targets were destroyed, in particular with the support of the allies. According to Netanyahu, the response to this attack is "Israel's right and duty".
