Apple plans to introduce microLEDs in AR glasses and Apple Watch Ultra in 2026
At the beginning of the year, Apple cancelled orders for microLED displays for the Apple Watch Ultra 3, which raised questions about the future use of this technology. However, new rumours suggest that the company continues to invest in microLED.
Here's What We Know
According to a source on the X platform, Apple is planning to use microLEDs in the new Apple Watch Ultra model, which will be launched in 2026.
Apple is also planning to use microLEDs in its augmented reality (AR) glasses, which will also go into mass production in 2026.
It is interesting what position LG will take in this situation. Will it demand compensation from Apple for the previously cancelled project, or will it try to sign a contract for the supply of new displays again? We can only wait for official confirmation and news from Apple.
