A batch of 122mm artillery shells has been delivered to Ukraine, funded by Slovak citizens as part of the Czech initiative Darek pro Putina.

Here's What We Know

The batch of 2,702 artillery shells cost the benefactors 4 million euros.

This collection was a response by Slovak citizens who decided to oppose the decision of Robert Fico's government to stop providing military assistance to Ukraine and not to support the Czech initiative to supply ammunition.

The fundraisers said the campaign aims to show that the majority does not agree with the government's change in foreign policy after the September elections.

"After consultations with the Ukrainian side, we want to buy primarily 122mm ammunition, which Ukraine can use in old weapons systems," Darek pro Putin explained.

The 122mm round is primarily suitable for the Soviet D-30 and 2S1 Gvozdika howitzers.
