Ukrainians who join the Ukrainian Legion in Poland will be able to cross the border "easily"
Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin Oleh Kuts said that volunteers who join the Ukrainian Legion in Poland will be able to cross the border to go on holiday or on rotation.
Here's What We Know
"We have to fight disinformation. The enemy provides false facts, for example, that our fighters are sent to the front without proper training, uniforms, equipment, that they will simply be "thrown" to the front. This is not true. Anyone who is interested or hesitates can apply to the recruitment centre without any obligations, it is a voluntary unit," said the Consul General.
He also added that the Legion has "monetary rewards and can easily cross the border to return for a holiday or rotation".
Kuts clarified that men from the age of 18 can apply, although the mobilisation age in Ukraine is 25.
Earlier, Polish Deputy Defence Minister Pawel Zalewski said that 196 people in Poland had applied to join the Ukrainian Legion.
On 1 October, a recruitment centre of the Ukrainian Legion in Poland was opened in the Polish city of Lublin. During the first days of the recruitment centre's work, 138 applications for interviews were received through the website and another 58 through consular offices.
