Platform X (formerly Twitter) has announced significant changes to its monetisation system for content creators.

Here's What We Know

Premium users will now be paid for interaction with their content by other premium users. Previously, revenue depended on the number of confirmed ad views in response to posts. The new system assumes that the more premium users interact with content, the more earnings authors earn.

The company also said it would remove users who artificially inflate views on their posts from the programme. From 8 November, revenue from verified ad impressions will no longer count towards revenue sharing. Up to 25 per cent of Premium subscriptions will go directly to content creators.

These changes may lead to more Premium users responding to posts, as they already receive priority in replies based on their subscription level. However, it remains to be seen whether the new approach will lead to higher payouts for creators.
