The French leader also said that the equipment used to train the Ukrainians would be transferred to Ukraine.

"I have made this commitment: our military is currently training 2,300 Ukrainian soldiers in Grand Est, with equipment that they will use during their missions," he said.

Macron also assured that the new brigade will be trained and equipped thanks to the solidarity of France. This country is the first to train a full-fledged Ukrainian brigade on its territory.

The training covers a range of elements: infantry and armoured combat with AMX-10RC (French armoured fighting vehicle), engineering tasks involving sappers, air defence with Mistral missiles, anti-tank warfare with Milan missiles, the use of drones, snipers and CAESAR artillery systems.
