Hungarian Air Force receives first Brazilian C-390 aircraft

Brazilian airline Embraer has delivered the first C-390 Millennium multipurpose transport aircraft to the Hungarian Air Force.

The aircraft is the first to be equipped with a deployable intensive care unit, which enhances its ability to perform humanitarian and medical evacuation missions.

The Hungarian C-390 fully meets NATO requirements in terms of hardware, avionics and communications configuration.

"The arrival of this aircraft is a real milestone for the Hungarian Air Force, as it will provide the Hungarian Defence Forces with unprecedented capabilities in military airlift," said Kristóf Szalai-Bobrovnitsky, Minister of Defence of Hungary.

C-390 Millennium multirole aircraft

The C-390 is a medium-sized military transport aircraft capable of carrying a payload of 26 tonnes. It can fly at 470 knots and cover long distances, making it suitable for a variety of missions. These include cargo and troop transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and humanitarian missions.

Since entering service with the Brazilian Air Force in 2019 and the Portuguese Air Force in 2023, the C-390 has demonstrated its power, reliability and performance. All existing aircraft in all countries have already logged more than 14,000 hours.
