Garmin has unexpectedly started rolling out updates for some of its older mid-range smartwatch models, including the Forerunner 245, 745 and 945.

Here's What We Know

A new beta software version 13.40 is now available for these models, which were released four to five years ago.

This update addresses two issues: the first is related to connecting to the inReach Messenger app, and the second is the display of time during Strength activity when it lasts more than an hour. The beta version also includes the Sensor Hub 18.04 innovation, but the company has not yet provided details about its changes.

Garmin usually releases updates for new models, and these changes are the first for these three watches in more than a year. The beta version is not yet available for the Forerunner 45 and 45s.
