Google has announced that the Imagen 3 image generator is now available to all Google Gemini users.

Here's What We Know

Previously, it was available only through the AI Test Kitchen in the US. The new model provides more realistic images and has fewer defects compared to previous versions.

Imagen 3 was first presented at Google I/O this year. It uses generative artificial intelligence to create images based on text prompts, similar to Dall-E and Midjourney.

According to Google, Imagen 3 delivers vivid colours and sharp details, making images more realistic.

The company also noted that the new model better reflects lighting effects and human images. However, the improved quality can make it difficult to determine whether an image is created by artificial intelligence.

Google is developing measures to prevent users from confusing images created by artificial intelligence with real ones. For example, Google Photos will have a feature to detect images created by AI. Meta is also implementing similar initiatives on its Facebook and Instagram platforms.
