Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced that the company plans to provide financial assistance to people affected by Hurricane Milton in Florida.

Here's What We Know

In his post on the social network X, he stressed that everyone at Apple sympathises with those affected by the destruction, but did not disclose the amount of the donation.

Hurricane Milton caused extensive damage. Millions of people were left without electricity, and at least 16 people died. Currently, Milton continues to move into the Atlantic Ocean as a post-tropical cyclone with winds of up to 75 miles per hour.

In addition to financial support, Apple has introduced a new feature in iOS 18 called Satellite Notifications. It allows users of iPhone 14 and later models to send messages even when there is no cellular signal.

This is especially important for those who want to contact relatives during emergencies. Also available in iOS is the Emergency SOS feature, which allows you to call for emergency assistance.
