Ilon Musk announced Robovan: Tesla's futuristic autonomous bus of the future

At the Tesla We, Robot event held in Los Angeles, Ilon Musk unveiled a prototype of Robovan, a bus-sized electric autonomous vehicle.

Here's What We Know

Robovan is designed to carry up to 20 people and cargo in high-density areas. The exterior of the Robovan combines retro-futuristic styling with silver metallic sides and black details. Inside, seating and standing areas are provided, as well as tinted glass. The controls are fully autonomous, with no steering wheel.

Musk said that Tesla's goal is to change the look of roads, making them more futuristic. However, he did not reveal details about the cost, production timeline and plans to build new production facilities. The Robovan prototype resembles other robotaxis such as the Zoox and Cruise, but is significantly larger in size. Despite the presentation, it remains unknown when Robovan will be available for mass use.
