Redmi chief hints at price hike for Redmi K80 flagship lineup

The head of Redmi, Wang Teng Thomas, has shared his thoughts on the upcoming Redmi K80 series, which will be released at the end of the year. According to him, the new Redmi flagship models will get significant improvements in positioning and features beyond just performance.

The Redmi K80e, K80 and K80 Pro are expected to be powered by Dimensity 8400, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipsets respectively.

Thomas noted that the new generation of devices includes significant improvements and hinted at a possible price hike. A well-known insider Digital Chat Station also reported that the Redmi K80 series of Redmi K80 could face a price hike, especially for the Pro version.

MediaTek is known to have recently unveiled the Dimensity 9400 chip that will be used in the Vivo X200 and Oppo Find X8 smartphones. Wang Teng Thomas confirmed that Redmi will also launch a smartphone based on this chip, possibly it will be the Redmi K80 Ultra, scheduled for next year.
