A new security update is available for the Samsung Galaxy A55 in select Asian countries

Samsung has started rolling out a new security update for October and one of the first to receive it is the mid-budget Galaxy A55.

Here's What We Know

The update has been available in several Asian countries since 11 October and is identified by the build number A556EXXXS5AXI4. The new firmware doesn't bring any improvements or new features other than improving the security of the device.

The October 2024 security patch addresses more than 20 vulnerabilities in the Android OS, as well as 12 vulnerabilities that only apply to Galaxy smartphones and tablets. It also addresses a security flaw related to Galaxy smartphones and wearable devices that function on certain Samsung Exynos chipsets.

The update for the Galaxy A55 in other regions will be available in the coming days.
