Google continues to integrate artificial intelligence into its products, and now the technology will make its way to the Google Meet app for Android.

Here's What We Know

Last year, the company launched AI-generated backgrounds for the web version of Meet, but now the feature is coming to Android mobile devices as well. The code for the latest version of Gmail for Android (v2024.10.06.682972205) revealed a "Create Background" button in the effects menu. For now, clicking this button opens a blank page, but it is expected that in the final version users will be able to enter text queries, select styles and generate unique backgrounds, as is already implemented in the web version.

On the web version of Google Meet, the feature allows users to create multiple sample backgrounds based on a user's query and edit them. Similar features are expected to be available on Android as well.

The new option is still in early development and it is not yet known when it will be finally implemented.
