The best post-Mario: Astro Bot platformer is hugely popular and has already become one of the most successful games of the genre
Astro Bot platformer from Sony and Team Asobi became the highest rated game of 2024 on Metacritic (not counting Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring). The cute adventurer struck fear into the hearts of critics and gamers alike with its addictive gameplay, excellent technical execution, light good humour and variety of mechanics.
No wonder that Astro Bot became one of the most successful platformers of our time.

GamesIndustry.biz editor-in-chief Christopher Dring spoke to subscribers at X and revealed that Astro Bot's launch sales have exceeded Sony's and analysts' expectations. He noted that although the real success of the game can not yet be assessed, because it has been too little time after the release, but it is already safe to say that the new PlayStation 5 exclusive is second in popularity among modern platformers only console exclusive Nintendo - games immortal series of Mario.
