Apple is preparing a budget Vision headset for $2000: without EyeSight and with cheaper materials
A well-known insider, Mark Gurman, reported that Apple plans to release a budget version of the Apple Vision headset next year and its price will be around $2000.
Here's What We Know
The premium model Apple Vision Pro debuted at the beginning of the year for $3,499, but the high price significantly limits the availability of the technology.
Gourmet notes that the new headset is likely to use a less powerful processor and cheaper materials. While Vision Pro is equipped with the M2 chip, the budget version is likely to get an A-series chipset, such as A18 Pro, which will be close to M1 in terms of performance.
In addition, the new model is likely to lose the EyeSight function, which allows users to see their eyes through lens-like displays.
Apple expects the new headset to sell twice as well as the Vision Pro. However, given that Vision Pro did not become very popular, this does not guarantee big sales for the new product.
Apple Vision Pro 2 is also expected to be released in 2026 with an improved chipset.
