Leak reveals waterproof Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Gen 12 with bigger display
The next generation Kindle Paperwhite will receive a number of updates, including a larger display. Recently, photos posted by Reddit user gavan820 have surfaced online showing the new design and key features of the device.
Here's What We Know
The diagonal of the screen will increase from 6.8 inches to 7 inches, and the bezels will be slightly narrower.
The display of the new device will once again be equipped with a front backlight with adjustable brightness and colour temperature. Like the previous models, Kindle Paperwhite Gen 12 will be IPX8 certified, which confirms its water resistance, so reading in the pool will be even more comfortable. The amount of flash memory will remain at 16 GB.
According to leaks, the e-reader's battery will provide several weeks of autonomy and can be charged via USB-C with a power of up to 7.5W.
A cable will be included, but no charger will be provided. In terms of the business model, the Kindle Paperwhite will continue to show ads on the lock screen, which can be removed for an additional fee.
Amazon may update the chip or add support for wireless charging.
