Amazon has announced that it will no longer produce the Kindle Oasis, which was the last device in the Kindle line with physical page-turning buttons.

Here's What We Know

This popular eReader, introduced in 2016 and updated in 2019, will no longer be produced after the existing stocks are sold out.

After several updates, the Oasis became one of the most sought-after devices for e-book lovers, but now Amazon has decided to focus on touchscreen devices that have proven to be more user-friendly.

Devon Corvas, a spokesperson for the company, announced the decision and added that all new Kindle devices are touchscreen.

Despite the lack of buttons, new Kindle models such as the Paperwhite, Colorsoft with a colour screen, and Scribe for reading and writing are becoming popular alternatives.

For those who prefer physical buttons, there are other options, including the Kobo Libra Color.

The Kindle Oasis is now no longer available on Amazon in the US, although international versions are still available for purchase.
