Ukraine's Armed Forces received six more PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery systems, which Qatar transferred through Germany.

Here's What We Know

This became known thanks to the German government's update of the list of arms aid, which includes weapons transferred to Ukraine over the past month.

The origin of these self-propelled artillery systems is of interest, as all indications point to them coming from Qatar. In September, it became known that Germany and Qatar had agreed to transfer 12 PzH 2000s. According to the plan, the delivery was to be carried out in two stages: the first six units by the end of 2024, and the remaining units in the first half of 2025.

The first six Qatari PzH 2000s arrived in Ukraine much faster than expected. This is likely due to their excellent technical condition, which reduced the time for repairs and accelerated delivery.

It can be assumed that this will also affect the speed of delivery of the second batch. It is worth noting that Qatar ordered 24 PzH 2000s back in 2013, and Germany transferred 12 of them to Ukraine as part of an agreement to replace them with newer RCH 155s.

In addition, the updated list of weapons from Germany to Ukraine underlines the further strengthening of air defence. The new equipment includes the IRIS-T SLM medium-range and IRIS-T SLS short-range systems. In addition, the package includes IRIS-T SLM and RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missiles, which are integrated into the FrankenSAM air defence system based on the Buk system.
