Google Chrome for Android now with background audio playback on web pages
Google has updated the Chrome browser for Android, adding a background playback option for the "Listen to this page" feature.
Here's What We Know
Users can now continue listening to audio from web pages even when switching to another app or switching off the phone screen. This feature, introduced earlier this year, is now available in the Chrome menu and can be added to the toolbar for quick access.
Background playback allows users to do multiple tasks at once, such as listening to news while checking email or podcasts while browsing social media. This is also useful for people with visual impairments or reading difficulties.
The Chrome for Android update also includes performance, security and stability improvements. Users are advised to update the browser to the latest version 130 to take advantage of the new features.
