Samsung has announced the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which features an improved design and features over the regular Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Here's What We Know

The novelty received the largest screens among Samsung's foldable devices: an external display of 6.5 inches with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and an internal foldable screen of 8 inches with a ratio of 20:18.

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is thinner and lighter, with a thickness of 4.9mm when unfolded and 10.6mm when folded. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 5.6mm and 12.1mm thick respectively. The back panel of the Z Fold 6 SE has undergone a makeover and now features a striped pattern. The device also features a new 200 MP main camera borrowed from the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which greatly improves the quality of photography.

Inside, the device has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of inbuilt storage. The 4400mAh battery and 25W charging speed remain unchanged. Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will run on Android 14 with One UI 6.1.1 shell and will receive 7 years of OS updates and security patches.

The novelty will be available in South Korea from October 25 at a price of about $2,000 in one colour "black shadow". In China, the smartphone will appear later under a different name. There is no information about global sales of Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
