Insider: Ubisoft has shut down the development team of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and put an end to the game
With the metroidvania Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown there was a paradoxical situation: few people expected success from the game, but it received high marks from critics; the game was liked by gamers, but did not meet the expectations of Ubisoft.
According to an insider, Ubisoft publisher made a radical decision and disbanded the development team.
Here's What We Know
A French blogger under the nickname Origami claims that Ubisoft Montpellier has ceased to exist, and the developers of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown are redirected to other projects.
For a while, the team of game designers planned to release a sequel to Metroidvania, but Ubisoft categorically abandoned the idea, not seeing the potential in it. Although it should be noted that from the company's side it would be strange to expect from a game not in the most popular genre a great success, especially in a non-standard style and with a new protagonist.
Gamers should not count on further additions to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
