Apple has long been focused on making its mobile devices full-fledged gaming platforms.

In addition to releasing more and more high-end games on the iPhone and iPad, it has been reported that the company is developing a special app for gaming content.

Informed sources report that Apple is preparing a special programme similar to the App Store, but fully dedicated to games.

The application will combine the functionality of the shop and Game Centre, as well as add all the information about the player's profile, his friends, achievements and purchased games.

Users will be able to view all available games, browse the Apple Arcade catalogue, track friends' activity, participate in a variety of events and learn about major new releases.

Apple wants to integrate FaceTime and iMessage features to increase communication between users, as well as introduce the ability to add mini-games based on App Clips.

It is not yet known when this app will launch.
