Apple has decided to slow down the production of its Vision Pro headset to 1000 units per day due to the limited demand for the device.

Here's What We Know

According to The Information, the company may completely stop production by November 2024 as it focuses on the development of a more affordable version of the device.

Apple's manufacturing partner Luxshare reported a decrease in headset production from 2000 to 1000 units per day. At the same time, there is an oversupply of inventory, estimated at 500-600 thousand devices. Apple CEO Tim Cook noted that Vision Pro, which costs from $3,500, is aimed at early adopters, while the wider ecosystem is still under development.

While the Vision Pro has received positive reviews for its display and controller-free gesture control, it faces challenges due to the lack of support from major platforms such as Netflix and YouTube, which are not currently developing dedicated apps for the technology.

Apple has flexible production plans that allow it to quickly adapt to changes in demand, and is considering creating a more affordable model that could appeal to a wider audience.
