Snapchat camera now available from iPhone lock screen
Snapchat users have a new feature that allows them to launch the app's camera directly from the iPhone lock screen. This feature was introduced with the iOS 18 update. Now, instead of the standard flashlight and camera icons, users can choose Snapchat as a useful tool.
Here's What We Know
Pressing the button activates the Camera Only mode in Snapchat. This allows you to take quick snaps, but with an important caveat: users will not be able to apply filters or share photos without unlocking their phone with Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode.
The feature will be available after this week's app update and requires iOS 18.0 or iOS 18.1. To activate the feature, you need to tap and hold the lock screen, select Settings, and add a Snapchat camera.
In addition, Snapchat users on iOS 18 can now take pictures by pressing the volume buttons.
