Almost like the sequel: detailed system requirements for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered have been published
Sony and studio Nixxes have published detailed system requirements for the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster.
Here's What We Know
Updated version of the game in 2017 due to large-scale graphical improvements on system requirements became comparable to the PC-version of the sequel with the subtitle Forbidden West. At all settings, gamers will need 16 GB of RAM and 135 GB of free space, preferably on an SSD.

- graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800;
- RAM: 16GB;
- storage space: 135GB.
Very high settings, 4K, 60 fps
- Operating system: 64-bit Windows version 1909 or later;
- processor: Intel Core i7-11700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X;
- graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT;
- RAM: 16GB;
- storage space: 135GB.
For those who will be surprised by such high system requirements, we remind you that the remaster implies a lot of technical improvements, including:
- ten hours of re-recorded dialogue and staged scenes;
- technical and graphical improvements, which will bring the game to the level of Horizon Forbidden West (2022);
- the developers will modernise character models, improve textures, enhance lighting quality and make other important changes;
- 4K support and significantly faster load times;
- Nixxes studio will improve sound mixing and add Tempest 3D Audio and Atmos technologies, and improve sound design in general;
- support for all DualSense controller features, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers;
- the remaster will utilise all the features of the PS5 Pro;
- Horizon Forbidden West's accessibility settings will be available;
- saves from the original game will be compatible with the remaster;
- On PC, HZD Remastered will get PlayStation overlay, DLSS 3 and FSR 3.1 image scaling technologies with frame generation, and support for ultra-wide monitors.
The remaster includes The Frozen Wilds add-on.
When We Can Expect It
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will release on PC and PlayStation 5 on 31 October.
Those who already have the game purchased on said platforms will be able to upgrade for just $9.99, while the full price will be $49.99. Pre-orders will open on the 3rd of October.
