Apple is testing a blood sugar monitoring app
Apple is testing a new app to help users control blood sugar and prevent diabetes.
Here's What We Know
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, this application will not be available for mass use. However, it may become part of new Apple products that will help people monitor their health.
The test participants were employees with pre-diabetes who had confirmed their condition through tests. They were offered recommendations on food and lifestyle choices, and their glucose levels were monitored using devices.
The aim was to show how diet can influence the risk of the disease. The increase in glucose after eating carbohydrates encouraged participants to choose healthier meals.
For several years, Apple has been developing technology that allows measuring blood sugar levels without piercing the skin. Although a prototype is already available, it is too large for the Apple Watch. Therefore, Apple continues to work on improving the health monitoring features in its devices.
