Meta AI gains access to Reuters news
Meta and Reuters have signed a multi-year agreement that allows the Meta AI chatbot to use the agency's news content to answer questions and provide up-to-date news.
Here's What We Know
According to Axios, this agreement enables users in the US to receive real-time news, including quotes and links to Reuters articles.
This collaboration is the first time Meta has entered into an agreement with a news agency to integrate their content into its AI platform.
However, Reuters has been working with Meta as a fact-checking partner since 2020. A Meta representative noted that this partnership will allow AI to efficiently answer users' questions by providing news summaries and links to original materials.
Although the details of the agreement were not disclosed, it is reported that Reuters receives financial compensation for access to its content. It is not specified whether Meta will use the Reuters library to train its Llama model.
