President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law that provides foreigners and stateless persons with the opportunity to serve under contract as officers in the Armed Forces, the State Special Transport Service and the National Guard.

Here's What We Know

This became known from the card of the draft law No. 12 023 on the Parliament's website.

This law also provides for the establishment of a recruitment centre for foreigners. Here, they will be checked to find out whether a person is legally on the territory of Ukraine, whether they have been brought to administrative or criminal responsibility, and whether they are connected to foreign intelligence.

As a reminder, on 6 September, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law allowing foreigners to hold officer positions.
