Insider: FromSoftware is porting Elden Ring to the new Nintendo Switch 2 console
Undoubtedly, Elden Ring has become one of the most talked about and popular games of recent years. FromSoftware's creation has set a record for the number of Game of the Year awards, is hugely popular with streamers and bloggers, is constantly mentioned in lists of the most challenging video games and is considered the next step in the evolution of the souls-like genre.
So far, Elden Ring is available on PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles of both current generations, but Nintendo Switch users can't enjoy it due to technical limitations of the device. But perhaps for fans of Japanese handheld consoles an important announcement is being prepared.
Here's What We Know
Authoritative insider Nash Weedle, who regularly shares reliable information about everything related to Nintendo, said that a special version of Elden Ring is in development for the yet to be unveiled Nintendo Switch 2 console.
According to him, this version will be subtitled Definitive Edition, which could indicate the inclusion of the story-based Shadow of the Erdtree add-on.
Nash Weedle claims that Elden Ring Definitive Edition is being ported by Virtuos Studios, which is known for its quality port of Dark Souls Remastered to Nintendo Switch.
The informant believes that Elden Ring Definitive Edition will debut on Nintendo Switch 2 before the end of 2025. But for now, we should at least wait for the Nintendo Switch 2 presentation, which, according to rumours, could take place in the coming days.
