Number One: Samsung Galaxy A55 beats flagship smartphones like the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Oppo Find X8 Pro and Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max

According to the latest smartphone ranking from GSMArena, the Samsung Galaxy A55 continues to hold the top spot among the most popular smartphones.

The Galaxy A55 has overtaken flagship models like the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the recently launched Oppo Find X8 Pro to take the second and third spots respectively. The recently introduced Galaxy S24 FE placed at the fourth position, while the new iPhone 16 Pro Max is at the 5th most popular position.

6 of the top 10 most popular smartphones from the ranking are Samsung smartphones. Apart from the mentioned models, these are Samsung Galaxy A15 (7th place), Samsung Galaxy A16 5G (9th place) and Samsung Galaxy A35 (10th place). Also in the ranking are the Redmi Note 13 and 13 Pro smartphones (6th and 8th place).

The Galaxy A55, released in March, has gained popularity due to its combination of premium features and affordable price. It features a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, the phone is also highly durable.

The device is powered by an Exynos 1480 processor with Xclipse 530 GPU based on AMD RDNA2 architecture and offers 8 to 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of inbuilt storage. The camera includes a 50 MP main lens with optical stabilisation, a 12 MP ultra-wide and 5 MP macro lens, and a 32 MP front camera.

The Galaxy A55 has a 5000 mAh battery and runs on One UI 6.1 based on Android 14. The phone also has IP67 water and dust resistance, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, a memory card slot and stereo speakers.
