Samsung users will be able to play together in virtual space thanks to new AR technology
Samsung has developed a technology that allows multiple users to share the AR experience in one space at the same time.
Here's What We Know
This is a feature that Apple's Vision Pro headset users are missing, as they are currently in a virtual world that is not accessible to others.
Vision Pro users cannot share their virtual experiences, even if there are other owners of such headsets nearby. As a result, each of them remains isolated in their own virtual world.
The patent, filed by Samsung in August 2021, describes how AR glasses can work together over a wireless connection. This means that a single user will be able to connect multiple pairs of AR glasses in a designated area, allowing all participants to share a common virtual experience. For this technology to work, users need to be within a certain area.
While Samsung plans to release its XR mixed reality headset in the coming months, it remains to be seen if it will be able to implement this new technology.
