The US will not impose new restrictions on Ukraine's use of US weapons if North Korea enters the war
The Pentagon said that the United States would not impose new restrictions on the use of its weapons, but only if the DPRK military actually goes to war.
Here's What We Know
The deployment of troops in North Korea has heightened Western concerns that the years-long war in Ukraine could expand, even as attention shifts to the Middle East. It could signal how Russia hopes to make up for heavy losses on the battlefield and continue to make slow, steady gains in eastern Ukraine.
A Pentagon spokeswoman has not yet been able to confirm the presence of North Korean troops in Russia's Kursk region, but she said it is "very likely that they are moving in that direction."
US President Joe Biden described the presence of DPRK troops in Russia as "very dangerous".
The Pentagon estimates that 10,000 North Korean troops have been deployed in eastern Russia for training, up from an estimate of 3,000 last Wednesday.
