Officially confirmed: the new OnePlus 13 flagship has more serious protection than the iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy S24 and Google Pixel 9

Previously, OnePlus did not equip its flagships with full-fledged protection from water and dust, but as it became known, with the release of OnePlus 13 the situation will change dramatically.

OnePlus has confirmed on its Weibo page that the upcoming OnePlus 13 flagship smartphone will feature IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it more water and dust resistant than previous models and competitors. The IP68 rating means that the device is fully dustproof and can withstand immersion in fresh water up to 1.5 metres deep for 30 minutes. The IP69 rating adds protection against high-pressure water jets at temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius.

These improvements make the OnePlus 13 more durable and reliable than the iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy S24 and Google Pixel 9 series of smartphones. However, the question remains whether all versions of the OnePlus 13 will have these ratings, as previous models didn't always have the same degree of protection across all regions. OnePlus has yet to provide exact information about the protection of the global OnePlus 13 models.
