Russian propaganda has long ago surpassed Goebbels' level and habitually refers to white as black, war as peace, conquest as liberation and slavery as freedom. With the advent of digital technologies, the propaganda machine of the aggressor country began to work even harder and more effectively, using all platforms, including YouTube.

Here's What We Know

With the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Google blocked 17 YouTube channels of the main propaganda resources, including Channel One, NTV, Rossiya and RT. This decision, of course, did not please the pro-Kremlin "journalists" and they sued Google. Of course, the court was Moscow-based and it ruled that the American company, which owns YouTube, must restore the deleted accounts of Russian media, and if it refuses to do so, it must pay a penalty. For each day of non-compliance with this decision, a fine of 100 thousand rubles is charged, the amount doubles every week until the court decision is implemented, without limiting the total amount of the fine.

On 28 October another session of the "court" was held, at which an astronomical figure was announced - Google must pay a fine of 2 ondecillion rubles to the Russian side for blocking accounts on the video hosting YouTube.

For those who are unfamiliar with such values, we explain: 1 undecillion is a number with 36 zeros, and, for example, in a billion there are only nine zeros.

Thus, the 2 undecillion announced by the Russian court looks like this: 2000000000000000000000000000000000000 roubles.

Paradoxically, the Russian authorities are actually slowing down YouTube so that the country's citizens don't have access to free information, and much indicates that the video hosting will soon be blocked completely.
