Google and Ford unveiled useful updates to Google Maps on Android Auto for Ford electric cars
Google and Ford have announced new updates for Android Auto users on Ford electric vehicles. These updates cover routing and finding charging stations.
Here's What We Know
They are primarily aimed at the Mustang Mach-E and Ford F-150 Lightning models, which use the phone version of Android Auto rather than the built-in Android Automotive. One of the key new features is the battery level display in Google Maps. Users will now be able to see how much charge will remain when they arrive at their destination. Google Maps will also show charging stations with NACS connectors, including the Tesla Supercharger if the car is equipped with the appropriate port.
Another major update is the ability to pre-prepare the battery for charging while driving to a charging station. To use these features, you need to update Android Auto on your phone and check for software updates on the car. These updates are expected to be available for other electric cars in the future.
