The week of important announcements from Apple continues.

This time the company unveiled three new MacBook Pro models with M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max processors.

Here's What We Know

The new laptops will be offered with 14-inch and 16-inch screens and integrated Apple Intelligence technology.

The computers are equipped with Thunderbolt 5 ports and come in black and grey.

The 14-inch model features a 10-core M4 processor, Thunderbolt 4, a 10-core GPU and a minimum of 16GB of RAM with options up to 32GB along with 120GB/s bandwidth. This model is priced at $1599.

The company will launch 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips and Thunderbolt 5 support. The 16-inch M4 Pro laptops start at $2499. A MacBook Pro with a 14-core M4 Pro and a 20-core GPU, Apple says, will offer double the performance boost over the M4.

The most powerful model will be the MacBook Pro with a 16-core M4 Max processor and a 40-core GPU. The laptop features Neural Engine which is more than 3 times faster than the M1 Max. This model supports up to 128GB of RAM for developers working with large language models with more than 200,000 parameters.

All MacBook Pro models feature Liquid Retina XDR displays with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and the option to choose a nano-textured display.

The new MacBook Pro models get a 12-megapixel Centre Stage camera.

Apple guarantees that the laptops can run for up to 24 hours without charging, a record in Mac history.

In bright lighting conditions, the notebooks can also display SDR content with up to 1,000 nits of brightness and HDR content with a maximum brightness of up to 1,600 nits.

MacBook Pro sales with the new chips will start on 8 November 2024, and pre-orders are already open.
