Samsung confirms release of XR mixed reality headset in 2025
Samsung today announced its third quarter 2024 earnings and confirmed that it will release its first XR mixed reality headset in 2025.
Here's What We Know
Samsung first unveiled the XR device earlier this year at the Galaxy S24 announcement, claiming to be working with Google and Qualcomm for this development. The headset will use a new version of Android optimised for the XR and a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip.
The device is expected to feature Micro OLED or OLEDoS panels with high refresh rates and multiple cameras. Some rumours claim it will be XR glasses rather than a headset. Also mentioned in the investor slide is the Galaxy S25 series, confirming the release of a successor to the Galaxy S24 in 2025. More details on the XR headset will be unveiled next year.
