It's a success! Sales of Call of Duty games have reached half a billion copies in 20 years

We have already reported that the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was the most successful in the long history of the franchise.

But, as it turned out, Microsoft and Activision have one more reason for pride and joy.

On the day of Black Ops 6 release The Washington Post journalists had a chance to talk to Activision representatives and heard some interesting information. The developers reported that for 20 years sales of all parts of the Call of Duty franchise exceeded 500 million copies!

This is a huge figure, which allows to put Call of Duty on a par with the super-popular Tetris and Pokemon series and is second only to Mario games.

Senior Vice President and General Manager of Call of Duty Matt Cox noted that the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft has not affected the development of games, they are still created by the efforts of 15 teams, but the American corporation can provide a huge budget for marketing, which allows to attract even more attention to the novelty.
