Recently presented flagship processors Snapdragon 8 Elite from Qualcomm and Dimensity 9400 from MediaTek have already appeared in the first smartphones and managed to pass the first comparative tests.

Here's What We Know

Realme GT7 Pro and vivo X200 Pro smartphones equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400 respectively have been subjected to comparative tests. The Snapdragon 8 Elite, which uses its own Oryon cores, performed better in single-core and multi-core tasks in Geekbench 6 tests, outperforming the Dimensity 9400 by 10 per cent and 15 per cent respectively. However, in combined workloads such as AnTuTu 10, the Dimensity 9400 was ahead by 6 per cent.

In 3DMark graphics tests such as Wild Life Extreme and Solar Bay, the Dimensity 9400 also performed better, beating the Snapdragon 8 Elite by 7-8%. This came as a surprise as the Immortalis-G925 GPU outperformed the Adreno 830.

Despite these differences, both chipsets show high performance, sufficient for any task. Experts say that users can be confident in choosing either of these processors without sacrificing performance. These results are obtained on pre-sale devices, so changes are possible, but no drastic differences are expected.
